Overall the park is well kept and (when the water is at a normal level) beautiful. Currently the water is VERY low. Trails seem fairly maintained and are marked in some areas. Lots of birds and spider webs today.

This was my second visit to the Ray Roberts SP system. It is a beautiful area and the trails are well kept. Though not extremely isolated you are rarely bothered by noise or other distractions. This area strung together with the Greenbelt gives 22.5 miles of trail (plus some parrallel trails).

Bonham State Park

Bonham is a great park to get away from the world at. I have visited approx 6 times and only once seen more than 8 people in the park. The trail is great but can be confusing. The signage and maps aren't the best. Both the inner (lake) and outer loops are good walks. The outer loop takes you through several different forest enviroments and past the old water tower and pump house.

My wife and I visited Tyler and walked a good distance along the mountain bike loops. The trails were very well maintained and gave us many chances to see wildlife. The nature trail is great and its plants are home to many types of insects. Overall a fantastic park with lots to do.
