Very nice senic trail, with a fair amount along a spring fed creek.  A fair amount of elevation change with the trail having stairs built in.

Took the family & pooch hiking with the North Austin and Round Rock Hiking Meetup Group. This was our (my) fist MeetUp.com event ever, not counting the previous Sunday when the hike got rained out before it ever started. Scenery is very nice and the creeks were flowing. We did a 2 mile loop (Hill Trail) then two miles along the creek (Creek Trail). We are eager to come back when we can spend more time exploring and hanging out along the creek versus keeping to a schedule.

Took the kids & Max to the Majestic Oak then we did the loop before heading back. Stopped at the Coyote Ugly GeoCache (GC1E6CF) along the way so the kids could check it out. We played in the stream by the Majestic Oak for a bit as well. Then on the way back we decided to come out from the canyon with the stock pond. That's where the bushwhacking came in to play lol.

Pretty awesome trail to have in your own backyard. I've been hitting this recently with our new dog Max and he's loving it.
Great for taking your dog off-leash.
Turkey Creek Trail - 6/1/2013  [View Log Page]

Distance: 3.00 Miles Duration: 1 hour
Took our new pooch Max and one veteran Jerry to Turkey Creek Trail, our first visit. Along with the two dogs were my two children and one of their friends, my wife and I. It's not a long or challenging trail, but frankly a very nice one that s close by us. Max finally learned not to be scared of the water and now loves getting in creeks. We rounded out our day with some swimming at Emma Long Metropolitan Park ($10 per vehicle) then some grub at Ski Shores - all very dog-friendly places.
