A nice starter hike for Palo Duro

Road View
A view of the road and the canyon from the trail. Though close to the road many times, there was not much traffic to disturb the peace.

Miles Hiked: 3.00 Miles  Elapsed Time: 2 hours

Comments: Not as much shade as the riverside trails, but this hike provides some decent views of the valley and the rock formations to the west of the trail. A cave-like overhang was a big hit with a group of school children who happened to pass by the location when we were there. Despite being close to the road there was not too much traffic to distract, but it was after peak holiday season. We combined this trail with the riverside trails to make a loop.
