South Shore Tasajilla Flats Loop

A Small Herd
I saw a good sized eight pointer buck chasing the does. This is one of the larger bucks hanging around the Tasajilla Flats area.

Comments:

Route  Playground parking area > Chaparral > Talley Valley > Horny Toad > Nature Loop > Tasajilla Flats > Playground parking area     3.3 miles

Temps in the upper 30's to start and mid 40's at end, sunny, no wind.

A quiet, easy hike along some trails I'm rarely on.  The trails were dry, in fairly good repair and easy to hike on.  There were some birds out and, as a bonus, we saw a larger than expected number of deer running around; survivors of the recent hunts.

NOTES

Water, shade, info kiosk and toilets available at Playground parking area.
