Out     Playground parking area > Tasajilla Flats > Nature Loop > Lanky Lackey > Roller Coaster > West Potts Creek > Armadillo (E) > East Potts Creek > Burkett Trail > Burkett park        6.8 miles

Return Burkett park > Winding Snake > Chaparral > Red Dam Loop > Chaparral > Playground parking area        3.3 miles

Temp started at 72 ended at 85, some clouds then sunny, steady breeze, humid.

The trails are well maintained with the exception of Red Dam Loop.  I would advise anyone who is not familiar with it, to avoid it until it can be groomed.

Not many birds out at first although they did make an appearance later in the hike.  No animals or reptiles were seen.  Quite a few Monarch Butterflies were out stopping to eat the blooming Bee Brush.

Quite a few hikers and mountain bikers were out as well.  My allergies kicked in once again so although I enjoyed the hike, I'll be glad when the seasons make a change!

NOTES

Water, shade, info kiosk and toilets available at Playground parking area.

Water, shade, info kiosk and dry toilets available at Burkett park.
