Not related to hiking directly, but Bastrop State Park looks like it will be losing another amenity, which can't help things overall. The organization that runs the Bastrop SP golf course is shutting its doors and the course, that had been created in 1937, will close.

I think that devastating fire a few years ago has had lots of unintended consequences... :-(
