Think you'll get away from it all in the wilderness? Not in parts of Canada. They've announced the intention of rolling out wifi in select wilderness areas. Thank heavens!

BARF!ThumbDown

I know I am an old fogey, but isn't the whole point of being in the WILDerness to get away from civilization for awhile? How can you recreate with the proverbial umbilical cord still attached? Huh

I recently camped overnight at McKinney Falls State Park next to 3 college students from Louisiana. They were on their late Spring Break and decided to do something wild, crazy, and hardcore and totally "rough it".

There they were with massive Walmart tents, battery operated air mattresses, making smores on the fire pit they started with firestarters, a distant 15 miles from downtown, sitting on lawn chairs, posting on Facebook and checking the weather on their smartphones. The irony was hilarious! RollEyesLOL
Happy Trails!

You and me both. A couple of years ago I noticed that Texas Parks and Wildlife was printing information on their park brochures with information needed so that campers could orientate their satellite TV dish antennas properly for the location! Seriously?
