For some time, we've had some parks with lots of individual trails entered into the database. In most cases that's proven to be wasteful and a bit confusing. If all but one or two trails have separate entries, what location do you use for hikes on one of those trails? To help improve things we're undergoing a location consolidation where it makes sense. What happens to log entries and photos uploaded for those locations going away? Nothing much. Instead of pointing to the old locations that are being archived, they'll point to the new common location. Your hike and mileage totals will remain unchanged. All of your photos will still be available. Any external web links to the old locations will automatically be redirected to the new consolidated location. This forum topic will keep track of some of these actions as they occur to keep you abreast of the changes. For today's entry, we have McKinney Falls State Park. All locations that used to be listed separately are now included in a single entry. One thing that remains to be done for this consolidated location is to create a common track file for all of the trails. |
