Return to Hopewell Trail

Navigating Along The Waterfront
This is one of the inlets I had to navigate around. There is no trail. (Photo by Blaze)

More Dead Animals
This is a hoof (to a deer?) and a dead catfish. (Photo by Blaze)
Dead Feral Pig
This is a head of a dead pig. Vultures had torn him to pieces. (Photo by Blaze)
Dead Armadillo
I saw two dead armadillos on the trail. Vultures have been busy. (Photo by Blaze)
Train Bridge
The trail takes you under a massive train bridge spanning a section of the lake. (Photo by Blaze)
Snake In The Grass
This guy was sitting right off the trail. I think it's a cottonmouth, but I'm not 100% sure. I didn't hang around long enough for him to open his mouth! (Photo by Blaze)
Trail Overgrown
The flowers were pretty, but when there are snakes around I prefer to see the ground. (Photo by Blaze)
Obstacles
The trail is poorly maintained, as evidenced by this fallen tree covering the trail. (Photo by Blaze)
View Of The Trail
Most of the trail surface is covered by tall grass. (Photo by Blaze)
Terrible Signage
This is the ONLY sign I saw on my hike and it was at the trailhead. (Photo by Blaze)
Trailhead
This is the trailhead across the street (Hwy 174) from Kimball Bend Park. (Photo by Blaze)
