Outfitter in Kountze dropped off at N end of trail. Camped at halfway point. No campfires allowed! Little wildlife seen. Needed compass to navigate S when intersecting loop trails (not marked extremely well). When along creek the scenery was more interesting.

Park claims 20 miles of perimeter trails. Nice country with some gullies and water crossings. Trail follows road for a mile or so off and on. One could begin at north end, walk about half, camp in the campground and then walk the rest to make a true backpack experience (easy reload of water). I really liked the parks beauty, foilage and terrain.
