Hiked from the Nails Creek Unit about 4 miles in to one of the campsites near (what used to be) the Pond. The pond was completely dried up, not sure if it was seasonal. Never saw much of a lake either. Trail looks more suited to equestrian guests, fairly sandy in some spots. Did meet a few horses on the trail.
Definitely not a great hiking trail, but if you need a place to camp overnight on a less than strenuous trail, this could be the place for you. Few places on the trail had great scenery. Again, could just be because it was January.
Trail was not marked extremely well, easy to find yourself off course. Found a couple structures on the trail, like a lookout and some shelters with maps. The lookout was good sized for a gathering.
