Early afternoon, weekday hike. Trails in good shape. Some leaves have changed to orange, yellow, and a few reds but mostly green. Started on Cattail, great view of Joe Pool Lake at scenic overlook. Water like glass, Fort Worth's downtown skyscrapers seen clearly 25 miles away. Large turtle, about one foot long in pond and a few smaller ones, birds everywhere, small animals heard in brush along trail. Only 4 people seen entire trek. Took Escarpement trail back, mainly because its quicker and ran out of water.
