This is a nice, small park that runs along the San Antonio River.  The Mission Espiritu Santo is nice to see and explore, but the park trails leave a lot to be desired.

There is a hike and bike trail that is paved (~2.5 miles) and it is in good shape.  Also, the very short Aranama Nature Trail is in very good shape.  However, the outer trail that parallels the river was in very poor shape.  It looked like it had not been maintained in quire some time and there was a lot of poison ivy, so I would not recommend you hike this trail in short pants.  There isn't much solitude since you have to cross under Hwy 183 twice, which is very noisy due to traffic.

Frankly, I wouldn't even recommend this trail.  It provides some nice views of the river, but the trail is not that exciting at all.  The park's maintenance crews really need to get to work on improving this trail.

On a positive note, there are some nearby attractions that provide some interesting Texas history.  There is Fannin's Memorial, which honors the death of Colonel Fannin and his men as well as the Presidio La Bahia and the birthplace of General Ignacio Zaragoza.
