I actually grew up in this neighhborhood and used to explore these woods long before there was a park. I spent a lot of time in Bear creek and Parr park up until I moved away. The "bear creek valley" as I call it. There are some beautiful terrains here, traversed by paved and dirt paths. I recommend taking all of the little offshoot trails that lead towards Bear Creek - you can find some nice spots for some solitude. One of my favorite spots is the little waterfall in Parr park (not the man-made one in bear creek park). This trail system showcases the natural diversity of the unique ecosystem that used to exist all over DFW. Early Spanish explorers compared the dense forests to those of the Yucatan. This is the best kept secret in Northeast Tarrant county, for sure.
