Comments: Of all the hikes I have done there is something special about the Rancherias Trail. 4 of us went in late April 04. It was warm through the days and cool evenings. The trail is hard! loose shale and lots of ups and downs. Water is limited but the springs are reliable. I would carry ample water and filter spring water. The most solitude ever expeienced and the most awesome views. Don't be afraid of it just plan wisely!
