Comments:

East End Park is a large, beautiful park along Lake Houston.  The dirt/gravel trails are shown as orange on the trail map and take you around the perimeter of the park or to various points of interest.  There is a "traffic circle" in the center of the trail system that allows you to go in different directions.  There are numerous, long boardwalks that take you across the low lying, wet areas.

If you wish to venture further, there are also several nature trails.  These are shown as yellow on the trail map.  These are unimproved dirt trails that are sometimes not easy to find because they are not walked on much and covered in pine needles in the wooded areas.

There are numerous park benches at scenic spots to rest/relax.

There are some signs along the "orange" trails, but only at key intersections.  I recommend you print out the trail map and take it with you, especially if you plan on hiking the "yellow" nature trails.

For more hiking, you can also catch one section of the Greenbelt Trails near the parking area of East End Park.  The Greenbelt Trails are not part of East End Park, but offer paved asphalt trails that run for over 75 miles throughout subdivisions in Kingwood!
